Flowers inspire me to no end. I have worked with them for many years in various ways, from drawing and painting to making potions and essences. I’m diving deep with this @jfancyblooms project and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. The new and full moon bouquet idea came to me because I wanted to gift myself fresh flowers, while also trying to think sustainably, both for the flowers and my bank account.
I found that with the new and full moon I could have something to look forward to and could pick flowers based on mine and the moons mood of that month. Turns out that each bouquet I have bought lasts to the next cycle of when it’s time to buy a new one (making it so I have blooming flowers for a whole lunation cycle.)
Each week I rearrange the flowers if need be, and often create smaller bouquets from the original. That is the kind of beautiful magic nature offers us. It’s rhythms and cycles, they cannot be bought or reproduced. At the end, if some colourful blooms remain I save the petals for dyeing, flower pressing and dried flower bouquets. The whole process developed naturally, I did not plan it this way and I’m so grateful I just let this project become what it needed to be.
