This is me probably around age 5 or so. I have loved art as long as I can remember and I’ve always know that whatever I chose to pursue would involve it.
When I was a kid and people would ask me “what do you want to be when you grow up?” I would always say architect! Because it was the only thing I could think of that involved drawing and seemed like an “acceptable” career. Little did I know that math is a big part of being an architect, and once I worked that out, I dropped the architect game pretty quickly.
I never stopped creating though! Wether it was making zines, painting on my clothes, entering drawing contests or sewing tote bags. Art has taken up a massive presence in my life and in 2017 I took the leap to work for myself, and as a result being a full time artist.
My art practise is very intuitive, I see images and visions, which then become drawings or paintings. I’m inspired by colours, feelings, and nature. when I draw, the final result is multi layered with meaning and magic.
My favourite medium is a smooth strathmore Bristol paper with black micron pen. I have loved experimenting with gouache, watercolour, and coloured pencils. However the black pen gives me the fine details that I love and thrive with.
